Modernizing Enterprise Software Ecosystems through Artificial Intelligence Driven Integration and Cloud Transformation
Abstract
Legacy enterprise software ecosystems often present significant operational friction, characterized by rigid monolithic architectures, data silos, fragile point-to-point integrations, and escalating maintenance overhead. Modernizing these environments requires moving beyond basic infrastructure migration ("lift-and-shift") toward a unified strategy that pairs cloud-native refactoring with Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven integration. This paper proposes a comprehensive architectural framework designed to accelerate enterprise software modernization through intelligent, cloud-native paradigms. By embedding machine learning models into integration pipelines, the system automates schema mapping, orchestrates event-driven microservices, converts legacy codebases, and provides real-time API performance optimization. Operating over elastic multi-cloud environments, the framework utilizes automated orchestration layers to balance computing workloads dynamically, preventing infrastructure bottlenecks during high-volume business transactions. Advanced data governance, privacy-preserving mechanisms, and zero-trust security controls are embedded directly into the transformation pipelines to protect sensitive enterprise assets. Experimental implementations demonstrate that AI-assisted integration significantly reduces manual refactoring effort, improves processing throughput, lowers operational latency, and enhances overall ecosystem resilience. Ultimately, this research provides enterprise technology leaders with a strategic blueprint to transform legacy software assets into scalable, intelligent, and agile digital platforms.
